New publication: innovation and productivity in manufacturing and services in Uruguay

The research by Diego Aboal and Paula Garda entitled ”Technological and Non-technological Innovation and Productivity in Services vis a vis Manufacturing in Uruguay” was recently concluded. The study was carried out within the scope of the Competitiveness and Innovation Division of the Interamerican Development Bank (IADB). The goal of the paper is to assess on the determinants of innovation and on the links between innovation and productivity for manufacturing and service firms in Uruguay. Go to publication

The research paper “Regularización migratoria en el MERCOSUR: evidencia para Patria Grande en Argentina” carried out by Cecilia Velázquez (CINVE’s researcher currently studying abroad) and tutored by Marcelo Perera (CINVE’s researcher) was published recently. A study of Peter  Klein, John Chapman and Mario Mondelli has been accepted for publication in a forthcoming issue of Academy of Management Perspectives. The paper´s title is “Private Equity and Entrepreneurial Governance: Time for a Balanced View. ” Abstract: Private equity (PE) is best understood not as a financing method, but as governance structure, one that emphasizes strong performance incentives, rules over discretion, and a strong alignment between ownership and management. Researcher joins Cinve

Francisco Rosas will join Cinve in December when moving back to Uruguay from Ames Iowa. Francisco has completed his PhD in Economics in 2012 at Iowa State University and is currently involved in several projects in agricultural and resource economics with Cinve colleages.
