  • Knowledge networks for innovation in the forestry sector: Multinational companies in Uruguay

    09/2018

Autores: Diego Aboal, FLavia Rovira y Federico Veneri. Abstract In this paper, we analyse the role that inter-agency and inter-business linkages have in the process of technological innovations in the forestry sector in Uruguay. We focus on what types of interaction prevail in the process of creating new knowledge and diffusing existing ones and what role different types of organizations have during this process. This paper offers new insights into the role that innovation in multinational firms has on knowledge creation and diffusion in developing countries as they interact with…

  • Trabajo Publicado: Desarrollo Económico Regional y Clubes de Convergencia en Uruguay

    06/2018

• Discovering pervasive and non-pervasive common cycles

    07/2017

Guillermo Carlomagno and Antoni Espasa. The objective of this paper is to propose a strategy for exploiting short-run common-alities in the sectoral components of macroeconomic variables in order to obtain better models and more accurate forecasts of the components and, hopefully, of the aggregate. Our main contribution concerns cases in which the number of components is large, so that traditional multivariate approaches are not feasible. We show analytically and by Monte Carlo methods that subsets of components in which all the elements share a single common cycle can be discovered…

  • TESTING LINEARITY IN THE LONG-RUN RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ECONOMIC GROWTH AND PASSENGER AIR TRANSPORT IN MEXICO

International journal of transport economics, issn 0391-8440 · e-issn 1724-2185, vol. xliii · no. 4 · november 2016 Juan Gabriel Brida, Martín Alberto Rodríguez-Brindis, Bibiana Lanzilotta, Silvia Rodríguez-Collazo Abstract : This paper analyzes the dynamic relationship between Mexican air transport expansion and economic growth. To this end, non-parametric cointegration techniques and non-parametric causality tests are introduced and applied to quarterly data of GDP and number of air passengers in Mexico for the period 1995-2013. These procedures allow to test the existence of long run relationship between the variables and to…
